David Mallory´s professional career in painting started in 1964. He has
exhibited in numerous fine art galleries in the US , Europe and Mexico.
Many of his works are in private and public collections in 14 countries.
He has been a teacher for 4 decades at elementary, high school, university levels and at workshop sessions.
David is originally a Californian, having grown up on its central coast. The great variety and beauty of that coastal landscape, with its golden hills, calm lakes, rugged coastal mountains, beaches, dunes, rocky ocean bluffs inspired him at age 10 to begin painting. His formal training started then with Harold Forgostein, a world class artist.
Ensuing studies were with the noted painters William Rohrbach, Alexander Nepote, Arne Nybak, David Kreitzer, and Ted Goerschner. In his 9 years of university education, David studied painting, art history, music and humanities. He is professor emeritus at California State University, Chico.
There are many places he has lived and painted: the US , Germany , Spain and Mexico , including 3 years of extensive travel throughout Europe . Although hundreds of his works have been purchased for collections , David is best known as a painting teacher, for his systematic approach, friendly disposition, and respect for painters at all levels.
